Humpback Whale Spotted in New York Harbor

We think this is really cool - a humpback whale was spotted in the New York Harbor! The whale made its way around lower Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and up the Hudson River. Encountering whales is not uncommon at this time of year in the Atlantic Ocean, but rarely does one swim in the harbor. The whale spent at least three days in the harbor, and eventually made its way back to the ocean.
