Citizens of Calgary have something new to look forward to every winter – curling on St. Patrick's Island! The cherished Canadian sport is now being practiced in an unusual location – under the Confluence Plaza pavilion on the island. The game is set up on a single sheet of synthetic ice, which looks, feels, and acts just like real ice. The curling sheet will be open daily from 9 am – 7 pm until the end of March, and there will also be some fun curling events over the next few months. A gathering will be held on Saturday, January 21st from 2-4pm and music and hot drinks will be served. If you're in Calgary, don't miss it!
