American Society of Landscape Architects New York Awards

Last Thursday night, was the ASLA NY awards ceremony where we received the honor award, along with Civitas, Inc, for the Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park in #Tampa. Here is Barbara Wilks (W Architecture & Landscape Architecture) receiving the award alongside #civitot and Civitas, Inc. President Mark Johnson, Chuck Jablon (Skanska) and Elizabeth Jordan (ASLA NY American Society of Landscape Architects).

W was also honored for our work on the Chouteau Greenway competition, for which we were shorlisted, with an ASLA-NY merit award for The Valley Beeline. The Beeline was a key part of our proposal, which integrates urban planning initiatives, ecological preservation and new sustainable infrastructure with a greenway facilitating alternative transportation. It was a critical idea to create a channel establishing a connection between neighborhoods and the valley that reached beyond the main artery of improvements, new pathways, connections and ecological stabilization to truly bridge the divided city and offer an equitable experience for all.
