W is working with Buffalo RiverWorks and Buffalo Niagra Waterkeeper to expand Buffalo’s water renaissance. The blueway plans were announced yesterday afternoon at RiverWorks, read the press release here. The collaborative multimillion dollar waterfront access and entertainment project will enhance the Buffalo River and make it more accessible. W, along with Nussbaumer & Clarke and Architectural Resources, designed walking paths, public access docks, and other improvements for the brownfield riverfront site owned by the Heritage Discovery Center. The site is adjacent to the terminus of a proposed nature trail along the former DL&W elevated rail line, and there is potential to link it to the riverfront site in the future. The riverfront will be under construction as early as this fall.
