In December of 2021 W opened its ‘virtual’ doors for the Architectural League’s First Friday-Distance Edition event. First Friday is a tradition of the Architectural League that offers a behind the scenes look at design offices across disciplines and cities.

This event provided a moment to reflect on over 20 years of work. We measured our environmental impact across New York City, wove together a timeline of key projects, and went out into the field to revisit projects. The program was moderated by Christopher Hawthorne, Chief Design Officer for the City of Los Angeles and former architecture critic for the LA Times who facilitated an open conversation between our team and our virtual visitors.
