Barbara, along with the other members of the Van Alen Institute's Climate Council, spent part of last week in California's Central Valley for the Council's inagural trip. They participated in a hands-on investigative trip focused on agriculture and food production. The council members will take several more trips to a wide range of destinations that are undergoing or will undergo substantial environmental change. The council's purpose is to investigate critical climate related issues and inspire change-making design projects that can improve the environment and promote healthy communities.
