St. Patrick's Island has been awarded an American Architecture Award by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design & Urban Studies: https://chi-athenaeum.org/the-2017-aaa-awards/?page=3. The American Architecture Awards are the nation's highest public awards given by a non-commercial, non-trade affiliated, public arts, culture, and educational institution. Seventy-nine projects were chosen out of a shortlist of 300. The president of the Chicago Athenaeum said, “The winning projects are each stunning and provocative new additions to their urban and rural locations – authentic connections to nature and the very cultures in which they coexist. The selected projects have a positive psychological effect on the communities in which they are built and in which they serve – every detail looks handcrafted; every facade contextualized; every plan, diagram, and section particularly and exquisitely well executed.” Congratulations to all of the selected winners!
